You can export data from Obit for analysis, reporting or for creating anniversary lists.

You may, for example, wish to check what funerals you handled this month last year so that you can send a sympathy card or note. Or, you may want to invite all clients from the past year to a special anniversary service. Or you may want to look at coffin use trends.

Exporting Funeral Data from the main funeral screen

  1. Use the filter boxes to select the data that you wish to export. Note that if you are selecting for a date range that the from and to dates you put in are Inclusive - for example if you want the get all of 2018's funerals in the output, you will enter 01/01/2018 in the from date and 31/12/2018 in the to date field.
  2. Check how many funerals are listed for output. If the number is less than 100, then you can use the options in the quick output list. If the number is over 100 then you need to use the "Export All" button at the top of your screen.
  3. If you have less than 100 lines and you wish to continue with the quick output options, you should first set the number of entries option overhead so that all are included in, for example, a printed document
  4. Next, use the Column Visibility to decide what to include in the output file or document (NB - some data elements, eg Coffin, are only available using the Export All function). The default columns are solid and the options that you can select to include are white. You can turn columns on or off by clicking them.
  5. The output options are (left to right) "Copy to Clipboard", "Print", "Export to CSV-file" and "Export to Excel file"

Export All

This button is located near the top right of any screen where this option is available.

It's important to note that Export All has a limit of 1000 records, so if you are exporting more than 1000 lines, then you will need to reduce your inquiry parameters, e.g. by performing quarterly exports as opposed to annual.

When you select Export All, there is no need to set column visibility as all data will be exported.

You will have the option to export to CSV-file, Excel or Open Document Spreadsheet formats
